BMW in trouble! More than 600,000 vehicles recalled

Ana sayfa / News

BMW has issued a critical warning to car owners in China, recalling more than 600,000 vehicles due to the risk of fire. The reason is that the connection points of the 400W electric coolant pump used in the vehicles cannot provide a strong enough seal. So which models are affected?

Over time, the connections in the 400W electric coolant pump can be exposed to external factors, resulting in problems such as corrosion or short circuits. There is even a risk that this can lead to overheating and, in some cases, vehicle fires.

The recall includes some of BMW’s most popular models. BMW 3 Series, 5 Series, X1, X3, X3, X4, X5, X6 and Z4 models manufactured between 2011 and 2019 are included in this list. Both local models made in China and imported vehicles are part of this call.

It is stated that over 600 thousand vehicles in total carry this risk. So, there is a pretty big recall operation. So, how will BMW solve this problem? BMW will check the electric coolant pump connections of all vehicles under recall for free and replace them if necessary.

The company also plans to install an extra protection cap on these connections to prevent a recurrence of the problem. Owners will be invited to services from March 2025 and the recall process will begin.

While such recalls may seem like a troublesome situation for automakers, the fact that BMW wants to provide free support is good news for users. Vehicle owners will be able to continue their journey safely thanks to the free of charge checks.
